Riding a bike in Thailand

 

Useful tips for riding a bike in Thailand.

 

Attention : From 01.07.2010 it is obligate for your passenger to wear a helmet too.

 

1:

Phuket's main streets are basically in good condition and with sufficient signal and road signs .
Motorbikes on Phuket are the most widely used vehicles, which is the best to choose for a personal trip.
However, we recommend renting only for persons who have a little bit of experience riding a bike
on Thailand's roads.

 

Principle is therefore to recommend a cautious and proactive behavior.

 

Note : Left-essential traffic on Phuket's roads !!  (all Thailand)

 

2:

Absolute helmets compulsory for the driver in Phuket. (Passengers so far voluntarily without a helmet requirement)
Failure will be punished by the Thai police with a mandate. (300 - 500 Bath)

 

3:

You need an international driving license, the police will check it.
